Mountain Mentors Skill-Share Basecamp
In our commitment towards sustainability we work to contribute towards community, culture, and environment, we call these Yellow Cedar Initiatives. This includes donating 4% of our revenue towards such initiatives.
As part of our way of contributing to the local community, we've volunteered our equipment towards the Mountain Mentors organization.
Mountain Mentors is a non-profit which aims to provide backcountry skills through mentorship. They pair mentors with mentees and this pairing allows for a passage of knowledge while empowering women to be independent in the backcountry. We hosted 3 of their members on our Duffey Fest and they followed up this February with a camp of their own utilizing our amazing tents and waste (poo) management equipment to provide a camp of their own.
Through this camp, they got a chance to explore the areas and get introduced to the winter camping environment in a fun and comfortable way, despite the -20C temps they experienced!
We're really happy to see these incredible women experiencing the outdoors and sharing experiences, stories, and skills amongst each other through mentorship!
