Basecamp Location - Lillooet Icefields
At the head of the Lillooet River are the little known Lillooet Icefields. This premier spring skiing location is in our backyard in Pemberton. Join us for big glaciers, high mountain summits and amazing views amongst an Antartica like landscape where few set foot.
This location falls under our Tier 3- South Coast Locations. Our camp will be established on a glacier with a multitude of ski descents and mountaineering objectives at our doorstep.
Possible summits include:
- Mount Lillooet (2944m)
- Mount Tisiphone (3021m)
- Mount Magaera (2930m)
- Mount Stanley (2935m)
- Mount Alecto (2604m)
Our basecamp is placed high at 2000m with 700m runs on all sides. One of our favourite runs is one dubbed "Long Haul", this 6 kilometer long run with 1000m of elevation loss is one for the bucket list. With the right timing a possible 1200m descent that extends 10kms! Talk about a leg-burner.
Due to the nature of the terrain, this location is best mid to late April or in May into early June even. You can ski here all months of the year!
